Four Faces of Spiritual Poverty

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Yeshua.”-Romans 6:23

All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him? -Psalm 35:10

“Darkness hovered upon the face of the deep” … “and God said, “Let there be light, and there [it] was.” -Genesis 1

  • Some hide themselves as a people who live a life of richness, luxury and materialism.  Who can afford of everything–good houses, nice cars, beautiful clothes, pictures of themselves eating at expensive restaurants, luxurious travels–but are really facing a humungous amount of credit card debts.  They live a life of possessions, possessed by possessions but really own a false identity.

  • Some hide themselves as a people who are always ready to say YES to others who are asking monetary helped and never say NO.  These are the type of people who doesn’t have expectation from others.   They don’t know how to stop giving to the point of giving even their whole selves, nothing left to be.  They are experiencing poverty by shouldering the poverty of others plus themselves.   Themselves being in debt because of the debt of others.  They don’t practice the 6 letter word, “ENOUGH” !

  • Some hide themselves as a people of can’t afford, who are always wanting, who keep saying that they don’t have enough.  These are the people who never recognize their obvious blessings.   It’s easy to identify them through the words that coming out of their mouth.  “I don’t have money for ___,” when they make it not their place.  They are the energy suckers.  They just keep the blessings, ignore the potential within themselves, and they don’t share; they let it die in their hands.  Another characteristic of this type of poverty is seen as they put pressure on you to do something for them, projecting themselves in very desperate situation and making you feel guilty of not helping them.  But they aren’t aware of it.  They are inside of this mask that they themselves don’t even notice.

  • The fourth face of poverty are those people who are the most hated by today’s society.   People who are hidden in darkness.  They are the dark (night) walkers or criminals.    Poverty lurked in their souls, feeding on it.  They are in a deep pit of darkness that conceals the light of their souls swallowing it in a shadow, which is DEATH.  They feed themselves and their children through the blood of their victims.   They become trapped in an unending of stealing, killing and destroying.  They are the robbers, murderers, liers, thieves, and idol worshippers, adulterers??? Their only resource is to take their own lives (really the light) as easily as they can but are keepers only of themselves.

And as we have reported in this blog, we have seen these faces, these masks, being used by the enemy to control people.  The accuser makes it seems like an economics calculation, but really, it is a spiritual battle.  Our resolves remain the same, that as ambassadors for the Kingdom of Heaven, we are called to do the will of God as proclaimed in the book of Isaiah chapter 61.  If you are reading this, know that you too are hereby equipped to lift up life from right where you are right now:
 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
